The title of this years annual conference is “Proud” and during the course of this conference you will be invited to share in the things that we are proud of in Sandwell.

Venue: The Public, West Bromwich

You will have the opportunity to listen to key speakers from a number of organisations.  As always be prepared for a lively, fun and informative day.  This event is always well subscribed and places are limited so book your place early.

LGBT Conference

The Local Strategic Partnership is holding a special event that will focus on understanding and responding to the needs of Lesbian, Gay, Bisexual and Transgender (LGBT) people who live and work in Sandwell.

Date: Thursday 22nd October 2009

Time: Registration and Buffet lunch at 12.30pm
Start 1.30pm – 4.30pm

Venue: The Public, West Bromwich

You will have the opportunity to listen to key speakers from a number of organisations, both national and local. You will also have the opportunity to discuss the topics relating to LGBT issues and how we take these forward.

We are also planning to have displays from local LGBT organisations, which will showcase their services.

Sandwell Homes’ Golden Number

As part of a continuing commitment to ‘listen and learn’ from our customers, Sandwell Homes is introducing some major changes that will make it easier than ever to contact us.

From 7th September a single ‘Golden Number’ will be introduced for all customer enquiries. This service will operate from 8am to 8pm Monday to Friday. The number is 0121 569 6000 (please note that our current out of hours Emergency Numbers will remain the same).

When the number is dialled, callers will be asked to choose from a menu of options as follows:

•    Repairs and gas
•    Rent account enquiries
•    Homelessness enquiries
•    General enquiries

Once an option is selected, enquiries will be put through to the relevant specialist team to deal with. If there is a queue, the customer will have the option to request a call back rather than wait. Emails, website enquiries and text messages will also be passed to these teams to deal with.

We will monitor this service closely to ensure that it is delivering on its promises. Customers will be respected and treated with courtesy at all times, and we have put checks in place to protect the confidentiality of all the information we hold.
