The Local Area Agreement has been approved
The LAA is the agreement between all those who have an interest in improving services and the quality of life for local people. Negotiations have been going on over the last few month to set targets that will tackle some of the most difficult and cross-cutting challenges in our area.

We have been reviewing the Sandwell Plan (our 'sustainable community strategy') . The plan sets out our long-term (to 2021) aspirations for the borough of Sandwell and also sets the agenda for the development of a 3-year Local Area Agreement with government (2008/09 - 2010/11).
We work with more than 20 different organisations in the public, p rivate and voluntary sector to transform Sandwell, working jointly at a local level to improve services and meet the needs of local communities.
Together we work to reach five strategic goals that will bring about transformation of the borough, to make Sandwell a place where people want to live, work and visit.
We are also responsible for the Neighbourhood Renewal Fund, which is an additional resource to help us improve services and to deliver Neighbourhood Renewal.
